POSITION: Food Service Manager
DEPARTMENT: Madison County JobSource
STATUS: Part-time (approximately 20-29 hours/week) during the academic school year and summer
programming, if applicable. Training will be provided and paid.
LOCATION: Onsite at Liberty Christian Elementary School
 High School Diploma or GED
 Excellent Verbal Communication Skills
 Good Problem-Solving Skills
 Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Software
Preferred Qualifications
 Previous Food Service Experience
 Previous Management Experience
 Knowledge of School Nutrition Regulation
Job Description
The Food Service Manager will report to the Director of the STAR Tutoring Program through the
JobSource Community Action program. The Food Service Manager will work with cafeteria staff to
oversee and coordinate their individual school’s food service program under regulations established by
the USDA.
Job Duties
1. Will train and become knowledgeable of the National School Lunch Program's rules and
2. Will train and become ServSafe Certified.
3. Will train and become familiar with health codes and sanitary principles including HACCP.
4. Maintain high standards for food service, safety, sanitation and training.
5. Participate in the preparation of food according to menus.
6. Will oversee and maintain procurement and inventory for food and supplies
7. Maintain accurate records as established by the Department of Education.

8. Must be attentive to detail, good organizational skills, and work with minimum supervision.
9. Possess good communication and public relation skills.
10. Cash handling skills and knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
